Terms of use

The service
Devgame is a browser game: an online incremental dev company simulator. It plays without an account. An account stores your progress on the server and puts you on the leaderboard.
Using the site means accepting these terms.
Free, and as is
The service is free and provided as is. No availability is guaranteed: it can be interrupted, changed or shut down.
The game's rules change over time. When they do, runs played under the old rules stop being ranked: they still load, they are simply no longer comparable.
Keep your own backup if your progress matters to you: progress held in the browser goes when the site's data goes.
Account
- A valid email address you can read: that is how signing in works.
- One account per person.
- The display name is at most 24 characters. It must not impersonate another player, be abusive, or carry advertising.
- You are answerable for what is done from your account.
Fair play
The score is never taken from the client. The server replays the action list you send and writes the score the engine computes. A run that does not replay is refused, and the submitted log is kept.
- Do not alter a run's log before sending it.
- Do not automate the game.
- Do not submit the same run twice: duplicates are detected and counted once.
- Stay within the submission rate limits.
Leaderboard
The publisher may remove a score, rename or hide a display name, suspend or delete an account, in case of cheating, abuse or unlawful content.
A decision can be contested at the contact address in the legal notice.
Ownership and content
The game, its code and its content remain the publisher's property. An account grants a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them.
By submitting a run you accept that your display name and its result are shown on the leaderboard, which is public.
Liability
The service is free and comes with no warranty. The publisher is not liable for lost progress, for an interruption, or for indirect damages.
Nothing here excludes liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.
Personal data
It is handled as described in the privacy policy.
Applicable law
French law applies. Failing an amicable settlement, disputes go to the competent French courts.
Changes
These terms can change. The date at the top is the version in force; playing on after a change means accepting it.
